The Fall 2016 membership and renewal campaign ended on January 8th!

  • What are the funds for? – The 2016 annual membership campaign and fundraiser was focused on funding the renovations and expanding the BiCi Co. space to include a Park Street storefront and increased space for the community programs.
  • How Much Raised? – $4,000 raised and that’s awesome!  Unfortunately we didn’t make it all the way to the $10,000 goal and will continuing our fundraising efforts into 2017.  Please consider joining as a member right now or making a financial contribution.
  • How many members does BiCi Co. have right now? – Good question.  48 Paid Members, 43 Equity Members
  • Expiring Memberships – 60 Expired Members.  We’d love to renew those expired memberships (paid and equity) in early 2017.

Welcome! Thank you for joining an amazing community organization dedicated to empowering Hartford to ride bicycles — for transportation and for fun.

This isn’t a typical bike shop. BiCi Co. is a membership organization, with benefits and access provided to members. Full details are here, but the gist is this: by becoming a member, you gain access to a full-service bike shop stocked with parts available for purchase at cost (No mark-up: we’re a non-profit).

That means you can visit during our twice-weekly DIY shop hours, where volunteers will help you learn how to maintain your own bicycle. You also get access to seminars teaching specific skills, among other perks.

There are two different ways to become a member.

1. Pay the membership fee. To become a paying member, go here!

There are four options:

  • Individual membership, one year: $100 (and renew for $80 during the annual campaign)
  • Family membership, one year: $160
  • Individual membership, five years: $400
  • Individual membership, lifetime: $1,000

2. Become an equity member – Alternative available for those with limited income

Individuals can earn a BiCi Co. annual membership by volunteering 10 hours in the shop. Volunteers do not need to have any bike repair skills. For more details and to become an equity member, visit the shop during DIY hours:

  • Mondays, 5:30-8:30pm – Women and Woman Identifying Only, BiCi Co. Belles Women’s Committee
  • Wednesdays, 5:30-8:30 PM
  • Saturdays, 1:30-5:30 PM
